Sometimes you just need to escape the big smoke and get back to nature. Where better to go than the Forest of Tranquility? You’ll be surrounded by rainforest, plus you can join in on loads of workshops run by Central Coast Eco Tours. Learn to play a musical instrument, get creative in an art class or find out ways to help the environment. Did you know you can grow a garden without soil? They’ll show you how with their aquaponics set-up that combines growing plants and fish. There’s even more to do with a whole forest to explore. Keep an eye out for over 200 species of flora and more than 120 bird species. Find your adventurous side and get around on a state-of-the-art electric bike. There are also loads of artworks scattered throughout the place so take your camera. It’s so close to Sydney, and you’ll love settling down for the night in your own tipi! There’s room for the whole tribe with tipis for 2 to 10.

After retiring from international cricket, Mike first appeared on Sydney Weekender back in 1994, and since then has loved every minute of it.
Over the years, Mike has hosted Sydney Weekender from all over New South Wales; from Eden in the south, to Tibooburra in the far northwest of the state.
One of Mike's favourite moments was when he had the chance to fly in a fully restored De Havilland Vampire fighter jet at the Temora Aviation Museum. "The pilot opened the throttle and sent the Vampire vertical," he says, "It was such a blast - the whole time I was thinking - I've got the best job in the world."
Sydney Weekender is on every Sunday at 5.30pm on the Seven Network in Sydney, and across N.S.W. & the A.C.T. on the PRIME Network. It's repeated a week later on 7TWO.
