The difference between a Llama and Alpaca

When it comes to South American animals, one of the biggest questions is often: “Is it a llama or an alpaca?” At Alpaca Magic, just outside Canberra in Sutton, you can learn all about both of these fascinating animals.

The largest llama stud service in NSW, the farm is home to over 150 llamas, as well as many alpacas.

Llamas are the more social of the two species, and at Alpaca Magic, you can enjoy some intimate experiences with them like eating breakfast or taking them for a walk. The property is also full of other delightful creatures, including miniature cattle and donkeys.

Alpaca Magic is less than an hour from our nation’s capital, and only half an hour’s drive from one of Canberra’s best boutique hotels–East Hotel. The apartments are stylish and contemporary, with the option of an adjoining kid’s room in a couple of the rooms, should you have kids in tow.

There’s an in-house bar, Joe’s, where you can choose from an extensive cocktail, beer and wine list. There’s also a family-friendly Italian restaurant, Agostinis. Swing in for some wood-fired pizzas, made in the specialty oven imported from Italy. The menu also features a range of authentic, regional, Italian dishes. There’s only one word for it- delizioso!
