Hidden Italian Gems

Every suburb has it’s ‘trusty local Italian restaurant,’ and now Sally uncovers two of Sydney’s coolest Hidden Italian Gems. Once she finds them, that is!

Capanno Trattoria & Grill is in Botany and has no signage. It looks like a longstanding shop from the street, but inside is a funky Italian Restaurant serving up traditional Italian food and grilled delicacies. You’d never dream what is hidden inside from just looking at the front window!

Mr Liquor’s Dirty Italian Disco is a pop up ‘warehouse-style Italian eatery’ in Mascot in the Bottle Shop at the back of the Tennyson Hotel – a classic ‘tradies pub.’ The Tennyson hotel was bought by Merivale last year, and the pop-up restaurant opened in October 2017 by the team from Pinbone who have opened a few pop-up restaurants around Sydney. It will be open for 6 months/end of April 2018.
