Kitchen By Mike is another warehouse-restaurant conversion. It’s in the old Rosella Canning Factory in Rosebery, where the menu changes day to day depending on what owner Mike finds at the markets. Here’s the tip - log onto their Facebook page and see what they’re going to cook on that day. Easy. And talk about fresh! Loaves of fresh bread and butter, Grilled Corn with Lime and Chilli Salt, Green Beans with Persian Feta, Hazlenuts and Figs, and Jerk Chicken – a Carribbean dish with Spiced Cauliflower. And why not finish off with a slab of Pear Tart or a slice of Mulberry Strawberry Flan. A warehouse experience like no other.

Sydney Weekender, hosted by Mike Whitney, is now in its 24th year!
Travelling around the city and throughout the length & breadth of the state, each episode investigates the best places to stay, eat and play so you can make the most of your weekend. 

After retiring from international cricket, Mike first appeared on Sydney Weekender back in 1994, and since then has loved every minute of it. 

Over the years, Mike has hosted Sydney Weekender from all over New South Wales; from Eden in the south, to Tibooburra in the far northwest of the state. 

One of Mike's favourite moments was when he had the chance to fly in a fully restored De Havilland Vampire fighter jet at the Temora Aviation Museum. "The pilot opened the throttle and sent the Vampire vertical," he says, "It was such a blast - the whole time I was thinking - I've got the best job in the world."

Sydney Weekender is on every Sunday at 5.30pm on the Seven Network in Sydney, and across N.S.W. & the A.C.T. on the PRIME Network. It's repeated a week later on 7TWO.
