Mike goes for gold in Gulgong! Gulgong is a colonial gold mining town just outside of Mudgee in Central NSW. While the rush for gold may be over, this gorgeous historic country town has plenty to offer. Mike jumps on a trike and gets a unique tour of the town and its heritage buildings thanks to Mudgee Trikes. He also visits a replica mine and pans for gold at the Gulgong Gold Experience located where gold was first found there in 1870. And at the Gulgong Pioneer’s Museum, he also gets a real taste of what life was like back in the gold rush days. For lunch, Mike checks out the stunning Gooree Park, a winery that is also a stud farm with champion horses on-site. And to rest and relax, he checks into the Owl Head Lodge, which is surrounded by vineyards and lovely countryside views.
