Take a trip on the Sydney Metro to Castle Hill

After years in the making — and at a cost of billions of dollars — Australia’s biggest public transport project, the Sydney Metro, is up and running. Connecting Sydney-siders to more of the city than ever before, the new metro system has plenty to brag about: faster, more efficient and driverless trains, temperature-controlled carriages, and uninterrupted mobile coverage.

The Sydney Metro brings a whole new level of public transport to the city. Opal cards, bank cards, and even mobile phones can be used to purchase a ticket, making it quick and simple to ride the network.

The first route to open is Northwest, with Tallawong Station being the main station hub. From here, you can explore what the Northwest of Sydney has to offer, including the ‘hub’ of Castle Hill — Castle Towers. A shopper’s paradise, Castle Hill is also home to Holey Moley and Strike Bowling. Here you can enjoy an indoor, all-weather 18-hole themed golf course, as well as ten-pin bowling. There’s also karaoke and, by night, the venue becomes adults-only and has a full bar with beers on tap, wine, and cocktails.

Castle Towers has plenty of food options — with a food court and restaurants — but if it’s dessert you’re after, head straight to the ‘sweetest place on earth’. Tella Balls is a dedicated dessert bar with everything from Belgian Waffles, Waffle Burgers, Banana Splits, Tella Balls, Tella Shakes and more! There are also novelty desserts like the Sweet Fish and Chips, Nutella Lasagne, and Tellababs. With so much to choose from, Tella Balls is a culinary experience, best shared!
