Things To Do in Tumut

August 2019 update: The deal in the video above is no longer available.

“It’s a postcard come to life” were the first words our presenter Lizzy Lovette said driving into Tumut for this story! This picturesque town on the banks of the Tumut River is a charming place to base yourself for a holiday.

Just a 4.5-hour drive from Sydney — or a one-hour flight to Wagga Wagga, where you can hire a car for the rest of the trip — Tumut is a must-visit destination! Lizzy hooked up with fly fishing guide, Rod Bennett, at Elm Cottage. It’s a top place to stay on the banks of the Goobarragandra River and a gorgeous place to fish.

Back in town, thirsts were quenched at the Tumut River Brewing Company, which is a microbrewery with a mighty 24 beers on tap! Come and meet the “Brew Crew”, try their beers, have lunch, and do a tour of the brewery – what a way to spend an afternoon! Back to the river, Lizzy found luxury accommodation at Nimbo Fork Lodge. It’s a picturesque spot where the Tumut River meets Nimbo Creek. Your private cottage looks over the water, making falling asleep to the sound of a running river simply heaven!
