The National Variety Bash 2014- 30 Years Celebrations

Check out a wacky display of vehicles at The National Variety Bash 2014- 30 Years Celebrations! The bash will see vehicles travelling across the country to raise money for kids in need. This colourful convoy of cars will travel, in a Grand Parade over the Harbour Bridge, to Sydney’s Moore Park. Come along and check out the unique display of over 550 decorated vintage vehicles including cars, ambulances, buses and fire trucks. There will also be 1700 ‘bashers’ in fancy dress to meet!

Arena Calcetto In The Rocks

Check out the world’s coolest foosball table at Arena Calcetto In The Rocks. This giant installation is the work of Sydney collective Archrival, and has brought together more than 100 international designers to create a monumental installation featuring six timber towers standing 10 metres high. Sydney Weekender, hosted by Mike Whitney, is now in its 24th year!
Travelling around the city and throughout the length & breadth of the state, each episode investigates the best places to stay, eat and play so you can make the most of your weekend. 

After retiring from international cricket, Mike first appeared on Sydney Weekender back in 1994, and since then has loved every minute of it. 

Over the years, Mike has hosted Sydney Weekender from all over New South Wales; from Eden in the south, to Tibooburra in the far northwest of the state. 

One of Mike's favourite moments was when he had the chance to fly in a fully restored De Havilland Vampire fighter jet at the Temora Aviation Museum. "The pilot opened the throttle and sent the Vampire vertical," he says, "It was such a blast - the whole time I was thinking - I've got the best job in the world."

Sydney Weekender is on every Sunday at 5.30pm on the Seven Network in Sydney, and across N.S.W. & the A.C.T. on the PRIME Network. It's repeated a week later on 7TWO.
